Dripping Christ Sangria
38 After this, Joseph of Arimathea, secretly a disciple of Jesus for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate if he could remove the body of Jesus. And Pilate permitted it. So he came and took his body. 39 Nicodemus, the one who had first come to him at night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes weighing about one hundred pounds. 40 They took the body of Jesus and bound it with burial cloths along with the spices, according to the Jewish burial custom. 41 Now in the place where he had been crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had yet been buried. 42 So they laid Jesus there because of the Jewish preparation day; for the tomb was close by. John 19:38-42
We come to the conclusion of Chapter 19 in the Gospel of John where we begin to understand what it means to be a secret disciple of Jesus even in this day where we deny the Christ in public unwilling to sit down at a table and pray aloud while others around us are eating. Try and challenge yourself to act like Joseph of Arimathea who long with Nicodemus would come out as supporters by binding Jesus in a burial cloth along with the custom of spices, aloes and myrrh.
Better yet I encourage you to ask your neighbor maybe sitting next to you in a crowded restaurant if they would care to pray with you and your family before a meal? It is not as difficult as you may think and makes such an impression especially on children as we make our way in a society today that openly clings to the world by the flash and flair we are carrying around immersed in the looking down syndrome. Just as the tomb was close to where he had been crucified Jesus asks us to know him by our practice, prayer and proclamation of his charity understanding he is always nearby no matter the situation or the actuation of sin prepared to give you grace unknown. Amen.

Day preparation Jesus laid before any devices
Close tomb made his fresh burial in lieu
