Denial one of Peter
The Gospel of John 18 15 thru 18
15 Simon Peter and another disciple followed Jesus. Now the other disciple was known to the high priest, and he entered the courtyard of the high priest with Jesus. 16 But Peter stood at the gate outside. So the other disciple, the acquaintance of the high priest, went out and spoke to the gatekeeper and brought Peter in. 17 Then the maid who was the gatekeeper said to Peter, “You are not one of this man’s disciples, are you?” He said, “I am not.” 18 Now the slaves and the guards were standing around a charcoal fire that they had made, because it was cold, and were warming themselves. Peter was also standing there keeping warm.
Today is the first day of denial we come to hear and understand what frighten Peter so much. When death seems so imminent, we can’t find our way until death has no power over the mind and your destiny. Peter was afraid terrified to let go and let God unwilling to acknowledge the possible cause of such doom instantaneously he froze he said no- we are no different. We say no when we should say yes as Peter teaches us what real forgiveness is all about calling destiny the truth of Salvation where Life is led to Eternity.
None of us can go back and we don’t seem to be reincarnated not knowing what God has given to each when this judgement day comes or do we just die and get buried or be placed in an oven where the warmth of fire supposedly doesn’t cause you any pain just instant vaporization poof you are dust and dust you shall return. This is Peter’s fright and there’s only one way to face it; death that is; living God First in Jesus as Peter will learn and prove Mercy is real forming the Church Christ called Him to do creating the Rock of beauty and depth of sacred traditions placing the Sacraments equal to the Ten Commandments which Christ taught us to follow both! Amen.

Seems unreal to believe
Following Jesus sweeter
Disciple another loved relieved
Into priest high courtyard he bowed
Disciple known and received
He notified gatekeeper Peter was allowed
Maid made him deny Jesus as he grieved
Not me Peter said he
You are a disciple the maid said she believed
Guards and slaves he stood with
Warmth of a fire of charcoal his relief
