Day Nine of Congress Walking Cruz-Wiggins Petition Drive began a Mile Marker 103 in Key Largo and ended up at St. Justin Catholic Church at Mile Marker 105.5. After two and one half miles my ankles from the sprain earlier in the Walk had begun to throb uncontrollably so I decided to come home and get some rest.
Tomorrow I have an old friend’s son coming to walk with me for the last few miles of Key Largo from St. Justin’s to the Big Curve entering Key Largo on US 1. The young man’s name is Devin and he’s a 17-year-old life guard at a local pool in Key Largo. He’ll be my first walking visitor since I began the Walk 105.5 miles ago and I’m looking forward to hearing how his generation can help our country move forward.
I walked across an inlet today that leads from the Atlantic into the Bay of Key Largo and took a picture of the beautiful Key Largo Bay as well as the Big Sail Fish hanging upside down in front of Sundowners Restaurant and Dive Shop where I understand a person can go Parasailing as well as diving and fishing from.
As I ended my Walk today at St. Justin’s Catholic Church, I was struck with a sign from the Stations of the Cross on the grounds that read, “With his help” referring to the Station Number 3 where Simon the Cyrene was ordered to help Jesus carry His Cross to His Crucifixion. It reminded me that I have Christ’s help every step of the way as I continue my Congress Walk of Truth for District 18. I know all things are possible with God on my side.
Tomorrow my Congress Walk for Truth begins at Mile Marker 105.5 at St. Justin’s Church. Please give me a honk or a wave as I finish walking the great city of Key Largo. May God Bless America for His Truth. TJCW
