Day 10 of Congress Walking for Truth completes the Florida Keys at MM107

Categories: Campaign Blog Archive from 2012 run for Congress

I have been Congress Walking for Truth in the Florida Keys for 10 days covering 107 miles by car and close to 57 by foot. My first day out I twisted my ankle in Key West diverting me back to Homestead to pick up my car and walk the towns and neighborhoods instead of every mile only to fall in another pot hole in Duck Key to twist my right ankle. There has not been one moment that I have ever thought I would be deterred from Walking for Truth to accomplish the goal my heart and soul has been set on. When the LORD sets a person on a mission, there is nothing anyone can do to stop His Word for humanity as well as their country.

As I left St. Justin’s Church this morning in Key Largo, I was a bit disappointed that my young friend who was suppose to walk with me had to fulfill another obligation so I’ve still got a clean record when it come to someone walking with me. Soon, some of my parents and Disabled American Veterans will join me along my walk route in Miami-Dade Country as we continue to head North towards North Miami Beach. There’s still plenty of time to make a mile or two with me if you feel called to come and Walk a Mile for Truth with Congress Walking Cruz-Wiggins. Just check my BLOG out daily and I’ll let you know where I’ll be going to start each day.

I spoke to a lot of fine people in the Keys this past week but the one who had the most impact on me was a Disabled American Veteran who told me his story of serving in Vietnam returning with a head wound from enemy fire only to be told he wasn’t injured enough to get a full disability. After years of fighting the government, his rating was raised to 100% yet the scars of war will never be healed from his body, mind and soul. He watched countless friends die in battle to secure our freedom here at home and I for one appreciate his service to our country’s peace and love of liberty.

Next week I’ll begin my Congress Walk for Truth in Florida City from the Big Fish as I move North towards Homestead and my home neighborhood of Cutler Landings. Please stop by and give me a handshake or a honk of the horn. Congress Walking Cruz-Wiggins Petition Drive begins Monday at 8:45 AM from Florida City. Until then, stay safe and may God Bless America.
