Moses then took the blood and sprinkled it over the people, saying, ‘This is the Blood of the Covenant which Yahweh has made with you, entailing all these stipulations.’ Exodus 24:8

Then He took a cup, and when He had given thanks He handed it to them, and all drank from it, and He said to them, ‘This is My blood, the Blood of the Covenant, poured out for many.’ Mark 14:23-24

Exodus 24:3-11, Psalm 116 & Mark 14:12-26

A few days ago, I had trouble sleeping, dreams of confusion awakened by Christ’s Light. It was early for me to get up at 2:34 AM and pray but my soul was stirring and God’s Word beckoned my call. As I began my daily silent time with God, I had got as far as reading some passages from the Bible when I was steered away by the Holy Spirit to Second Timothy whereby Paul is telling Timothy to be never shaken or ashamed of the Gospel. I was surely being told my Uncle had gone for I know in my heart he wasn’t afraid to share the Gospel reminding me to celebrate every facet of God’s love continuing my Uncle’s joy of loving and knowing Jesus in your life.

“Apostle of Christ Jesus through the Will of God in accordance with His Promise of life in Christ Jesus. So you are never to be ashamed of witnessing to our LORD, or ashamed of me for being his prisoner; but share in my hardships for the sake of the Gospel, relying on the Power of God”. Second Timothy 1:1/8

Yes, he was gone, but I know he’d say “be not afraid of the confusion and follow the “stipulations” to the ‘T.’” The “stipulations” of course are God’s Covenant as being told to Moses by God to forever bind the people in faith, hope and love. The Covenant of course is Christ’s New Covenant of love we strive to live every day. My Uncle was gone as the memory of my first dolphin game swirled in my head, we’d be visiting my Grandmother Carter soon I thought to lay him to rest nest to her in a more than 100-year-old cemetery called Moody Tillman.

The Memorial Service was a special day for me because I am reminded how we are celebrating the life of a man who’s Covenant had never been broken with his wife of 54 years or his God. My Uncle Bob was a man who cherished God’s Word and enjoyed hearing his wife Mary sing a hymn and play the piano. As I sported my Jesus Face tie, I gazed across generations of families who came to say goodbye to a friend, a brother, a Grandpa, an uncle and a true man of God. A man who understood and lived the Covenant our Father established in Christ Jesus. I was awed by the meeting of a second cousin who stood by the casket yesterday with me weeping and stroking his hair.

As her Grandpa was laying in God’s Eternal Hands, she was looking up at me as I described his peacefulness he’s living in Heaven in his Eternal Resting Home. She reached out and embraced me in a knowing safety net of distant family love. Her embrace was heartfelt filled with the awe of Christ Who died for the sins of us all. Her tears mingling with mine as our silent trust of God’s Divine Plan held us in His Hands.

We talked often during the rest of the day whereby this little Child of God inspired me to write what we experienced in a poem. I told her noticing she was drawing pictures in a notepad that I’d like to write her a poem if she’d let me use some paper. She handed me the book with a smile and I sat down looking at her and my uncle for a while penning thoughts and feelings of how she has allowed God to impact our lives.

The results are compiled below because she copied the poem I read to her in front of the family so I could share it with the world today. Personal relationships guided by the Covenant of God inject a proven life of faith, hope and love. Families who embrace God’s Covenant live in His Protective Hands of Truth. I am honored to dedicate my study today to Abigail and the family of Bob Carter including his two sons Joe and Craig and Bonnie his daughter. May you all find God’s Truth your guide following the Light of Christ in all you do. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen. God Bless you!

Dear God, we pray to live Your Covenant in Christ’s Truth. We pray for families to find the strength God in every step they take. We pray for our traveling safety LORD. Use us to live for You. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

God Bless His Truth for America,

Romans 8:28

Spirit led God inspired Christ fed

Little Abigail, Grandpa taught you Christ’s Love

The grip was tender hearted

Her tears as real as rain

Love for Grandpa will last forever

Christ’s love will remain the same

We looked at his lifeless body

Full of peace going astray

A little girls Grandpa lay resting

A grown man’s uncle to pray

His peaceful resting meeting

Makes us both a family in awe

As distant cousins we’ll dance

With God in Heaven above

Know your tender hug was special

Grandpa felt the grip from above

He is dancing with Jesus Eternal

Little Abigail, Grandpa taught you Christ’s Love
