Carrying the Cross of Christ must have been scary

THE GOSPEL OF LUKE CHAPTER 23 26 THRU 32

26 As they led him away they took hold of a certain Simon, a Cyrenian, who was coming in from the country; and after laying the cross on him, they made him carry it behind Jesus. 27 A large crowd of people followed Jesus, including many women who mourned and lamented him. 28 Jesus turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep instead for yourselves and for your children, 29 for indeed, the days are coming when people will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed.’ 30 At that time people will say to the mountains, ‘Fall upon us!’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us!’ 31 for if these things are done when the wood is green what will happen when it is dry?” 32 Now two others, both criminals, were led away with him to be executed.

Simon must’ve been a pretty big dude to carry the cross Christ would be crucified on. It must’ve scared him half to death finding himself in the middle of what would be the redemption of the world lending a hand without knowledge. This is what we call Gods Will many of us accomplish every day without the thoughts of where we’re going or why we’re there because we tend to think of only why we’re pleasing ourselves instead of looking to accomplish what God has intended for each and everyone; grace.

Yes, this grace comes to us in times of natural and unnatural abilities seeking a path to Him in righteousness by the conviction of being in tune with Christ in your being. Friday, I attended a football game where a once third grade student is now a 10th grade star football player towering 6 foot two with hands that seemed to be made out of superglue. His mom told me, “You would have been so proud of JC, he began the football game with the opening prayer. He really has come to life embracing the faith.” You could see Christ in his eyes, his smile his confidence. He prepares for life by prayer. After seeing me with a run to hug, his team came back from ten points down to tie at half and a Twenty-two to ten victory. God is with you by your belief my son. Amen.

Join us in our daily prayer of forgiveness. I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Prayer intentions. Silence for the prayers of others. In Jesus Name. Amen. Precious Blood

Cyrenian Simon made to carry
Carrying the Cross of Christ must have been scary
Jesus lamented mourned crowd large woman many followed like a lost ferry
Turning Jesus addressed Jerusalem daughters their visionary

Me sob not
Yourselves instead weep
Children yours afterthoughts
Days barren steep

Wombs bore never
Nursed never breasts
Mountains told clever
Us cover requests

Done things these
Green wood ease
Dry when pleased
Dust ashes sneeze

Criminals both executed
Path led agreed
Right left effected
Both would concede
