Wig’s Word of God Today 2-6-2013
Enjoy today’s study in a podcast at www.cruz-wiggins.com
Living for God takes a discipline you must be committed to for life.
At the time, all discipline seems a cause not for joy but for pain, yet later it brings the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who are trained by it. Hebrews 12:11
He was amazed at their lack of faith. Mark 6:1-6
Hebrews 12:4-7, 11-15, Psalm 103 & Mark 6:1-6
We awake today in the message of discipline asking us to endure the pain rejoicing in “the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who are trained by it.” I often wonder where our world would be without discipline to guide us and lead us in faith, hope and love. The resounding choice of free will may cause some to wince in pain for in the discipline they recall the accomplishment of a desired goal in life took patience, planning and purpose allowing our free will to become God’s Will.
Well, just as an athlete uses discipline to win a gold medal in the Olympics you too can use discipline in the surrender God requires to live in His grace. Living for God takes a discipline you must be committed to for life searching for service to accomplish charity in thought, action and deed. You may think we can ‘t place God in everything we do, right? I mean discipline in the LORD is separate- a Sunday kind of thing?
The LORD reminds us to live in Him constantly not attempting to hide in depravity allowing His Word to guide your prayer causing a desire to share, search and succumb to the Gospel of Life to live, laugh and love. You will come to a place in life where your love of God will cause you to be “amazed” at the “lack of faith” in people you meet for in your heart resounds the grace God intends all mankind to encounter and maintain by practice, prayer and preaching. Here lies the discipline our LORD asks of us each day. Amen.
We ask in prayer: Dear LORD, we pray today to use discipline to live in Your Will. Praying for the Emmaus Team of South Carolina and Harvard IL. Praying for Kairos Prison Ministry. Prayers for Dr. Cruz-Peluca. We pray for Greg Bishop’s healing. LORD, allow me to say I’m sorry quickly as needed. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
Yours in Christ,

Romans 8:28
Discipline for holiness your everyday aim– Hebrews 12:4-7
Sin in struggle meets His face
Nothing lived in blood’s disgrace
Never shedding anger to constantly pace
Forgotten the exhortation of His grace
No disdain in the LORD’s discipline
Acknowledged sons He scourges from sin
Never losing heart when reproved by Him
The LORD loves Who He disciplines to win
Trials are endured as discipline of fate
Being treating as a son is how God relates
When occurring discipline seems like hate
No cause for joy only disdain for pain’s mate
Time allows the discipline its reward
The fruit of righteousness to those who adore
Drooping hands and weak knees must implore
The straight paths of your feet once lame to shore
Peace we must strive in every lane
Discipline for holiness your everyday aim
Not deprived of God’s grace to obtain
Bitter roots become defiled in sin’s ugly shame
