09-28-2024 Luke 9 V-4345 Pay Attention to What I Say
The Gospel of Luke Chapter 9 v- 43 thru 45
43 And all were astonished by the majesty of God. While they were all amazed at his every deed, he said to his disciples, 44 “Pay attention to what I am telling you. The Son of Man is to be handed over to men.” 45 But they did not understand this saying; its meaning was hidden from them so that they should not understand it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.
In Luke 9:43-45, Jesus reveals the impending suffering he will face, but the disciples are too afraid to ask him for clarification. This fear can be understood in the context of their struggles to reconcile their expectations of a triumphant Messiah with the reality of Jesus’ suffering. They were caught in a web of confusion and disbelief, grappling with the unsettling idea that their leader, whom they believed to be the Savior, would endure pain and rejection. Their fear stemmed from a combination of shock, a lack of understanding, and the weight of their own expectations.
This scenario parallels our human frailty when it comes to seeking help from God. Just as the disciples hesitated to voice their doubts and questions, many people today struggle to approach God with their troubles. This fear often arises from feelings of inadequacy, shame, or the belief that our struggles are too trivial or burdensome for the divine. We might worry about how our questions will be perceived, fearing that they may reflect a lack of faith.
Moreover, the disciples’ fear highlights a universal human tendency to avoid uncomfortable truths. Acknowledging our need for help—whether from God or others—requires vulnerability and courage. Just as the disciples were afraid to confront their confusion, we may hesitate to bring our struggles before God, fearing judgment or rejection.
In both cases, the reluctance to ask questions can hinder growth and healing. It underscores the importance of fostering an open and honest relationship with God, recognizing that He invites us to bring our doubts, fears, and questions to Him. Embracing this vulnerability can lead to deeper faith and understanding, transforming our frailty into strength. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20
09-28-2024 Luke 9 V-4345
**Pay Attention to What I Say**
In the quiet hum of a crowd’s delight,
Amid the wonders, a truth takes flight,
For as they marveled at deeds divine,
A shadow loomed, in whispers, entwined.
The Son of Man, with purpose profound,
Spoke of a fate that would soon astound,
“Listen closely, take heed of my word,
A path awaits, though it feels absurd.”
For glory and triumph often deceive,
In the heart of the storm, we struggle to believe,
Yet here He stood, with a heavy heart,
Foretelling the trials that would soon depart.
“They will deliver me, a sacrifice made,
The weight of the world in darkness displayed,
But you, my friends, must grasp the truth,
For in this sorrow, there lies the proof.”
Yet in their minds, confusion reigned,
The depth of His message, they scarcely retained,
A veil of misunderstanding, a struggle to see,
The mystery of grace, unfolding with glee.
So let us ponder, in silence, and totally reflect,
On the wisdom of Christ, our hearts will connect,
For in every shadow, a light will arise,
In the depths of our trials, God’s love never dies. Amen.
