The Gospel of John 3 v- 12 thru 18

12 If I tell you about earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things? 13 No one has gone up to heaven except the one who has come down from heaven, the Son of Man. 14 And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.” 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

John 3:12-18 is a profound passage in the New Testament, where Jesus engages in a conversation with Nicodemus, a Pharisee. In this dialogue, Jesus emphasizes the necessity of spiritual rebirth and the importance of faith in Him for Salvation.

In verse 12, Jesus challenges Nicodemus by stating that if he cannot comprehend earthly matters, how can he understand heavenly truths? This sets the stage for the revelation of divine mysteries that follow. Jesus speaks of His heavenly origin, asserting that He has come down from above to reveal God’s truth to humanity.

Verses 14-15 reference the Old Testament story of Moses lifting up the serpent in the wilderness, drawing a parallel to His own impending crucifixion. Just as the Israelites looked to the bronze serpent for healing, so must people look to Jesus, lifted up on the Cross, for eternal life. This foreshadows the central theme of the Gospel: Salvation through faith in Christ.

Verse 16 is one of the most quoted verses in the Bible, encapsulating the essence of God’s love: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This verse highlights God’s unyielding love for humanity and the offer of Salvation to all who believe.

In verses 17-18, Jesus clarifies His mission, stating that He did not come to condemn the world but to save it. Those who believe in Him are not condemned, while those who reject Him remain in their sin. This underscores the critical choice each individual faces regarding faith and acceptance of Christ’s message. Overall, John 3:12-18 encapsulates the core of Christian faith: the necessity of belief in Jesus for eternal life and the profound love of God for humanity. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**God So Loved the World**

In the quiet of the night, a teacher came,

Nicodemus was his name, seeking truth aflame.

He approached the Lord with questions in his heart,

“Show me heavenly wonders, let the light impart.”

Jesus spoke of rebirth, of water and the Spirit,

“Unless one is born again, they cannot hear it.”

He spoke of earthly things, yet lifted His eyes to the skies,

“Believe in what I say, let faith be your prize.”

As Moses raised the serpent in the wilderness,

So must the Son of Man be lifted out of tenderness.

For healing flows from Him, a gift for all in need,

Look upon the Savior; let your heart and soul take heed.

For God so loved the world, His heart so wide and free,

He sent His only Son, for you and for me.

That whosoever believes, in Him shall find their way,

Eternal life awaits, in the light of day.

He came not to condemn, but to save and to heal,

In shadows of our sin, His mercy is revealed.

So take a step of faith, cast aside your fear,

In the arms of love divine, the truth is crystal clear.

Choose the path of light, let His grace unfold,

For in believing hearts, His story will be told.

John 3:12-18, a promise rich and bright,

In the love of Christ, we find our true light without spite. Amen.
