The Book of Psalm 95 v-Six thru Eight

6 Enter, let us bow down in worship; let us kneel before the LORD who made us. 7 For he is our God, we are the people he shepherds, the sheep in his hands. Oh, that today you would hear his voice: 8 Do not harden your hearts.

Psalm 95 is a call to worship and an invitation to recognize the greatness of God. Verse 6 emphasizes the posture of worship, inviting the community to bow down and kneel before God. It reflects an attitude of humility and reverence, acknowledging God as the Creator (“our Maker”). The act of bowing and kneeling signifies surrendering to God’s authority and recognizing His majesty.

In Verse 7 the psalmist expresses a personal relationship between God and His people. Describing God as “our God” indicates a covenant relationship. The imagery of God as a shepherd (“the people of his pasture, the flock under his care”) highlights His guidance, provision, and protection over His followers, reminiscent of Psalm 23, where the Lord is depicted as a shepherd.

Verse 8 serves as a warning. It references the Israelites’ rebellion at Meribah and Massah, where they doubted God and tested Him during their time in the wilderness (Exodus 17:1-7). The call to “hear his voice” is an appeal to be receptive to God’s guidance and to avoid the hard-heartedness that led to their downfall. It underscores the importance of faith and obedience in the relationship with God. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

08-22-2024 Psalm 95 V-0608

**Voice His Hear Hearts Harden Not**

Come, let us bow with humble hearts,

In reverence, let our worship start.

Before the Lord, our Maker true,

In awe, we kneel, our spirits renew.

For He is God, our guiding light,

In Him, we find our hope and might.

We are His flock, His cherished own,

In pastures green, His love is shown.

Oh, hear His voice, so clear today,

Do not let doubt lead you astray.

Like those of old who turned away,

Let not our hearts in hardness stay.

In gratitude, let praises rise,

With open hearts, let’s seek the skies.

For He, our Shepherd, leads us near,

In faith, we trust, and have no fear. Amen.
