The Book of John 6 v- 41 thru 47

41 The Jews murmured about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven,” 42 and they said, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph? Do we not know his father and mother? Then how can he say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” 43 Jesus answered and said to them, “Stop murmuring among yourselves. 44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him, and I will raise him on the last day. 45 It is written in the prophets: ‘They shall all be taught by God.’ Everyone who listens to my Father and learns from him comes to me. 46 Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God; he has seen the Father. 47 Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.

This narrative unfolds as Jesus addresses the murmuring of the Jews who struggle to comprehend His claim of being the “bread that came down from heaven.” Their disbelief stems from their familiarity with Jesus as the son of Joseph and Mary, which blinds them to His divine nature. In response, Jesus emphasizes a profound spiritual truth: “They are taught by God.” This statement underscores that true understanding and faith come not from human reasoning but from divine revelation.

Jesus explains that those who truly seek God will be drawn to Him. The process of being “taught by God” is essential for grasping the depth of His message. This teaching leads to a recognition of one’s need for redemption and the realization that Jesus is the source of eternal life. He asserts that everyone who hears and learns from the Father comes to Him, highlighting the necessity of divine instruction in recognizing Jesus as the Messiah.

Furthermore, Jesus contrasts earthly sustenance with the spiritual nourishment He offers. Just as manna fed the Israelites in the wilderness, Jesus presents Himself as the true bread, offering eternal sustenance that fulfills the deepest hunger of the soul. By stating that those who come to Him will never hunger or thirst, He invites all to partake in the life-giving relationship He provides.

In essence, John 6:41-47 reveals the intimate connection between divine teaching and faith in Christ. It challenges readers to seek a deeper understanding through the guidance of God. As they open their hearts to His instruction, they can move beyond skepticism to embrace the transformative power of Jesus, the true bread from heaven, who promises eternal life to all who believe. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

08-11-2024 John 6 V-4147

**Jesus came from Heaven; Whoever believes has Eternal Life**

In whispers low, the crowd did sigh,

“Is this not Jesus, son of earth and sky?

From Joseph’s hands, his roots we know,

Yet here he claims from heaven to bestow.”

But Jesus spoke, with truth so clear,

“They are taught by God,” for those who hear.

A call to hearts, a drawing near,

To understand the Bread that wipes each tear.

He spoke of hunger, not of bread,

But of a promise, where souls are fed.

Manna fell once, in days of old,

Yet here stands life, more precious than gold.

“Come, all who thirst, and find your rest,

In me, the gift, the Father’s best.

For he who learns and seeks my face,

Shall find in me a saving grace.”

In every doubt, in every fear,

The Father’s voice, so soft and near.

Through storms of life, through trials deep,

His teaching calls, a promise to keep.

So let us come with open hearts,

To grasp the truth that never departs.

For in the learning, we find the key:

Eternal life, in Christ, is free.

In humble trust, we heed the call,

“They are taught by God,” embraces all.

In every moment, let us partake,

Of the living bread, for our Savior’s sake. Amen.
