The Book of James 1 v- 19 thru 25

19 Know this, my dear brothers: everyone should be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath, 20 for the wrath of a man does not accomplish the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore, put away all filth and evil excess and humbly welcome the word that has been planted in you and is able to save your souls. 22 Be doers of the word and not hearers only, deluding yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his own face in a mirror. 24 He sees himself, then goes off and promptly forgets what he looked like. 25 But the one who peers into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres, and is not a hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, such a one shall be blessed in what he does.

Listen to my lines

Truth’s call in rhyme

Today we speak in time

Thoughts of James sublime

In the quiet of the soul, wisdom’s gentle call,

Be swift to listen, slow to speak, let anger’s fire fall.

For wrath does not yield righteousness, nor heart’s pure desire,

In patience, love, and gentle grace, our spirits lift higher.

Lay aside all moral filth, impurities that cling,

With meek hearts, receive the Word, let its truth take wing.

This sacred Word can save your soul, a beacon in the night,

Nurture it with reverence, guide your steps aright.

Not hearers only, but doers of the Word must we be,

For in the doing, faith is lived, and hearts are truly free.

A man who hears but does not act, like one who sees his face,

In a mirror’s fleeting glance, then forgets without a trace.

Yet who looks deeply into the perfect law of grace,

And perseveres in doing, finds blessings in the chase.

This law of liberty and love, where we find true delight,

In every act of humble care, our souls are bathed in light.

Contrast this with the Eucharist, the body and the blood,

In this sacrament of love, we’re cleansed by holy flood.

To receive with open hearts, in grace, we must remain,

In this divine communion, our spirits are sustained.

As we partake in sacred bread, and drink the holy wine,

We remember Christ’s great sacrifice, a love so pure, divine.

In Eucharist, our sins are washed, our hearts are made anew,

In this holy sacrament, God’s grace comes shining through.

So let your heart be swift to hear, your tongue be slow to speak,

In every act of humble love, the face of God we seek.

For in the doing of the Word, and Eucharist received,

True freedom and God’s grace are found, our souls are thus relieved.

In both the Word and Sacrament, our faith is intertwined,

In listening, doing, and receiving, God’s love in us we find.

For in the mirror of the Word, and Eucharist’s embrace,

We walk the path of righteousness, and dwell in God’s true grace. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Be Doers of the Word Forget not who you are**

In the quiet moments, wisdom’s voice,

A gentle whisper, a sacred choice.

Swift to listen, slow to speak,

In these virtues, strength we seek.

Anger’s fire, a fleeting spark,

Can leave behind a lasting mark.

Righteousness, it cannot yield,

In patience, hearts are healed.

With meekness, receive the Word,

Implanted truth, through ages heard.

A mirror held, reflect and see,

The law of love, to set us free.

Be doers, not just hearers, bold,

In action, faith and grace unfold.

Forget not the truth you’ve seen,

Live the life by grace redeemed.

The perfect law, in freedom found,

In its embrace, let joy abound.

Persevere, and blessed you’ll be,

In this, the path to true liberty.

So let each heart be swift to hear,

Words of wisdom, crystal clear.

In love, let actions loudly speak,

In this, the humble find the meek. Amen.
