The Book of Matthew 10 v- 19 thru 22

19 When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say. You will be given at that moment what you are to say. 20 For it will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. 21 Brother will hand over brother to death, and the father his child; children will rise up against parents and have them put to death. 22 You will be hated by all because of my name, but whoever endures to the end will be saved.

Matthew 10:19-22 is a passage where Jesus prepares His disciples for the inevitable challenges and persecutions they will face as they spread His teachings. This segment of scripture is part of a larger discourse where Jesus is sending out the Twelve Apostles, instructing them on how to carry out their mission and what to expect.

The verses specifically read as follows: 19 “But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, 20 for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. 21 Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. 22 You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.”

In these verses, Jesus reassures His disciples that they need not be anxious about how to defend themselves when they are brought before authorities. The assurance is that the Holy Spirit will speak through them, providing the wisdom and words necessary for their defense. This promise highlights the divine support that accompanies the mission of spreading the Gospel, emphasizing that the disciples are not alone in their struggles.

Furthermore, Jesus paints a vivid picture of the severe social and familial divisions that His followers might endure. The mention of betrayal among close family members underscores the profound societal impact of His teachings, which can disrupt even the most intimate relationships. This prophecy was meant to prepare the disciples for the harsh realities they would face, reinforcing that allegiance to Jesus could come at a significant personal cost.

However, Jesus concludes with a message of hope and perseverance. Despite the hatred and persecution they may encounter, those who endure to the end will find Salvation. This enduring faith in the face of adversity is a central theme in Catholic teachings, encouraging believers to remain steadfast and resilient, trusting in God’s ultimate plan and promise of eternal life. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Spirit Led God Inspired Christ Fed**

In times of trial, when shadows loom,

And hearts are gripped by fear and gloom,

Remember, child, the words He said,

A guiding light where paths have led.

When you are seized and brought to stand,

Before the rulers of the land,

Let not your heart be filled with dread,

For words of wisdom you’ll be fed.

The Spirit speaks, your voice will be,

A vessel of His harmony,

No need for thought of what to say,

For He will guide you on that day.

Betrayal comes from kin and friend,

A testing fire that seems no end,

Yet hold your faith through storm and strife,

For in this path, you’ll find true life.

Endure, endure, through dark and night,

For dawn will bring His radiant light,

And those who stand firm to the last,

Will find their peace when trials have passed. Amen.
