The Book of John Ch 11 v- 25 thru 26

25 “I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.

John chapter 11 verses 25 and 26 are powerful and transformative passages that resonate deeply with the themes of faith, resurrection, and Eternal Life. Here, Jesus speaks to Martha after the death of her brother Lazarus, offering a profound declaration of His divine authority over life and death.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

These verses are not just comforting words to a grieving sister; they are a cornerstone of our Christian belief. Jesus is unequivocally stating that He is the source of both resurrection and Life Eternal. This is not a metaphorical statement; it is a declaration of His divine identity and His power over mortality.

Earlier in the chapter, Martha displays her faith in Jesus with a poignant statement: “But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask” (John 11:22). Her faith sets the stage for the miraculous event that follows—the raising of Lazarus from the dead. This act is an eyewitness testimony to Jesus’ power and divinity, witnessed not just by the family but by an entire community.

How can one not believe in such an account? The resurrection of Lazarus is not presented as a fairytale or myth; it is described in the Gospel as a historical event, witnessed by many. This miracle verifies Jesus’ claim in verses 25 and 26, offering tangible evidence of His divine power.

Salvation, as presented in these verses, is the promise of Eternal Life, a life lived forever in goodwill and in the presence of God. It’s not just about physical resurrection but a transformative, spiritual rebirth that begins the moment one places their faith in Jesus. This is the essence of the Christian hope—an everlasting life anchored in the love and power of Christ.

In a world filled with uncertainty and mortality, the promise made in John 11:25-26 offers a beacon of hope. It assures us that life does not end with physical death but continues in the presence of God for those who believe. This is not a distant or abstract promise; it is a reality grounded in the testimony of those who witnessed Jesus’ miracles and were transformed by His words and actions. Thus, the message of John 11:25-26 is clear: Believe in Jesus, and you will experience Eternal Life. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

06-05-2024 John 11 v-2526

**Jesus is Life’s Resurrection**

In Bethany’s embrace, the shadows lie,

Yet hope is whispered through the sky.

“I am the resurrection,” He proclaims,

Life eternal, in His holy name.

Martha’s eyes, with tears, they gleam,

“Do you believe?” is more than a dream.

For those who trust, death holds no sting,

In Christ, the risen, hearts take wing.

“Though you die, you shall yet live,”

A promise only He can give.

Faith in Him, the path so bright,

In darkness, Jesus is everlasting light. Amen.
