The Book of Sirach Ch 51 v- One thru Three
1 I give you thanks, LORD and King, I praise you, God my savior! I declare your name, refuge of my life, 2 because you have ransomed my life from death; You held back my body from the pit, and delivered my foot from the power of Sheol. You have preserved me from the scourge of the slanderous tongue, and from the lips of those who went over to falsehood. You were with me against those who rise up against me; 3 You have rescued me according to your abundant mercy.
In the ancient wisdom of Ben Sira, one can discern prophetic utterances that point us toward the coming Redeemer, who we recognize as Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Ben Sira, a devout scribe, emphasized the necessity of wisdom, righteousness, and reverence for God, themes that resonate profoundly with the life and mission of Jesus. Through the lens of Ben Sira’s teachings, we see a foreshadowing of the Divine Redeemer who would fulfill the law and the prophets, embodying perfect wisdom and righteousness. Jesus Christ, in His earthly ministry, encapsulated the essence of Ben Sira’s wisdom, offering a living testimony of God’s love and mercy.
Jesus Christ, our refuge and strength, ransoms our lives from the clutches of death, granting us a divine destiny filled with hope and eternal life. Ben Sira spoke of the merciful nature of God, one who does not abandon His faithful to Sheol but provides a path to Salvation. This path, we now understand, is through Jesus Christ, who sacrificed His life on the Cross for our redemption. His blood, shed for the forgiveness of sins, is the ultimate expression of divine mercy, rescuing the lost, the lonely, and the languished. It is through this sacrificial act that we find true refuge and solace, knowing that our lives are secured in His eternal promise.
The profound mercy that Jesus Christ offers is not merely a historical event but a living reality, inviting us into a relationship with Him that transforms and redeems. Ben Sira’s reflections on the compassionate and just nature of God illuminate the character of Jesus, who walked among us, healing the brokenhearted and bringing comfort to the weary. His teachings and miracles were a testament to the boundless mercy that God extends to all who seek Him. In Jesus, we find the perfect fulfillment of Ben Sira’s vision of a righteous and merciful Redeemer, who not only saves us from death but leads us into life abundant.
This is the only way to Heaven and Life Eternal, by His blood shed on the cross. In a world searching for meaning and Salvation, the message of Jesus Christ stands as the singular and ultimate truth. Ben Sira’s wisdom leads us to the realization that all our striving for righteousness finds its fulfillment in Jesus. It is by accepting His sacrifice and embracing His love that we gain access to the eternal kingdom. The Cross, a symbol of suffering and redemption, is the gateway to eternal life, reminding us that through Jesus, mercy will be afforded to us all who confess Him Lord, Savior, King! Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20
05-29-2024 Sirach 51 v-0103
** My King My Lord My Savior**
In the shadow of His throne, I find my rest,
My King, my Lord, my Savior, ever blest,
From death to life, His love has drawn me near,
In His embrace, all fears and doubts disappear.
He ransomed me from darkness, cold and deep,
To walk a path where joy and light now sweep,
His mercy, like a river, flows so free,
Rescuing the lost, the lonely, and me.
In times of trial, He is my steadfast guide,
Through storms and strife, He stands by my side,
His grace, abundant, covers every need,
In His refuge, my soul is truly freed.
With praises high, my heart will ever sing,
To my Redeemer, my Lord, my King,
For in His loving arms, I’ve found my peaceful place,
A life transformed by His redeeming grace. Amen.
