The Book of Sirach Ch 20 v- 13 thru 15

13 The wise make themselves beloved by a few words, but the courtesies of fools are wasted. 14 A gift from a fool will do you no good, for in his eyes this one gift is equal to many. 15 He gives little, criticizes often, and opens his mouth like a town crier. He lends today and asks for it tomorrow; such a person is hateful.

The wise make themselves beloved by a few words because they choose their words carefully and speak with thoughtfulness and intention. They know how to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with others through their wise words. On the other hand, the courtesies of fools are wasted because they give little in terms of meaningful communication. Fools often criticize without offering constructive feedback, and they talk excessively without saying anything of value. Their words are often empty and lack substance, making their courtesies meaningless and easily forgotten. In essence, the wise are able to make themselves beloved by choosing their words wisely, whereas the courtesies of fools are wasted because they lack depth and sincerity. I’ve written a little piece about these two figures of life. We all know them. You know the ones you crave to hear speak about our Lord describing miracles or a peace that surpasses all understanding and the ones who talk and talk and talk laying down empty words weak support muttering sounds of confusion as they walk away. Enjoy the poem reflect in silence with me the joy of wisdom where Salvation forgives and you live forever. Amen.

The Wise and The Fool

The wise stand tall in silence’s embrace,

Their wisdom shining in a tranquil grace.

They know the power of words left unsaid,

Choosing carefully when to speak instead.

But the fool, oh the fool, he cannot resist,

His voice a constant, noisy twist.

He criticizes, he condemns,

Spewing words like venom from his pen.

He opens his mouth like a town crier,

His words a never-ending choir.

But what does he truly have to say,

When his words bring no light, only dismay?

So let us heed the wise and learn from their ways,

Embrace the silence that in wisdom lays.

For it is in the quiet that true wisdom is found,

Not in the noise of the fool’s empty sound. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Wasted are fools courtesies**

Words few spoken make wise beloved

Wasted are fools courtesies most will shun

Good nonexistent in fool’s gift begrudged

Eyes his sees many equal gifts in one
