The Book of Sirach Ch 18 v- 30 AND 31
30 Do not let your passions be your guide, but keep your desires in check. 31 If you allow yourself to satisfy your passions, they will make you the laughingstock of your enemies.
One stanza at a time. One maybe two poetic entries sublime. In the Lord I find abundant time. Will you join me in the Divine?
It is human nature to have desires and passions that drive us to achieve our goals and fulfill our dreams. However, it is crucial to keep these desires in check and not let our passions be our sole guide in life. Allowing our desires to consume us can lead us down a dangerous path, where we become blinded to reason and lose touch with reality. When we let our passions take control, we run the risk of making irrational decisions that may harm ourselves and those around us. Our desires can cloud our judgment and lead us to act impulsively, without considering the consequences of our actions. This can result in us making poor choices that we later come to regret.
Moreover, when we allow our passions to guide us, we become vulnerable to manipulation and exploitation by others. Our enemies can easily take advantage of our desires and use them against us, leading us to make decisions that benefit them at our expense. This can make us appear foolish and gullible in the eyes of those who wish us harm, turning us into the laughingstock of our enemies. It is important to maintain a sense of self-control and rationality when pursuing our desires. By keeping our passions in check, we can make informed and thoughtful decisions that align with our values and goals. This will help us avoid falling into traps set by our enemies and prevent us from becoming the subject of ridicule and scorn. When y0u make friends with Salvation, the people you entertain yourself amongst desire the same outcome as you; Life Eternal. Let Salvation be your guide and The Word of God your instructions to live in peace.
In conclusion, it is essential to keep our desires in check and not let our passions be our sole guide in life. By maintaining a sense of self-control and rationality, we can avoid making impulsive decisions that may harm us and make us vulnerable to manipulation by others. Ultimately, by keeping our desires in check, we can prevent ourselves from becoming the laughingstock of our enemies and protect ourselves from unnecessary harm. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.
