The Book of Sirach Ch Ten v- 30 and 31

30 The poor are honored for their wisdom; the rich are honored for their wealth. 31 Honored in poverty, how much more so in wealth! Disgraced in wealth, in poverty how much the more!

The wisdom of the poor brings them honor, while the wealth of the rich earns them respect. Poverty is a source of honor, whereas wealth can lead to disgrace. You have transformed into a betrayer of poverty. Even more discredited in wealth, but in poverty, the extent is amplified! In many societies, there has been a long-standing admiration for individuals who demonstrate wisdom and knowledge despite their lack of material wealth. This could be rooted in the idea that wisdom and intellectual pursuits are more valuable than material possessions. The poor being honored as wise may be seen as a contrast to the perceived decadence or excesses often associated with wealth. In this view, those who have fewer resources are often considered to have a higher moral standing or possess greater humility. The poor may be seen as wise because they have faced adversity and may possess a deeper understanding of life’s challenges. Their experiences and hardships can make them more relatable to others, fostering a sense of empathy and respect. There is a belief that those who are poor are more likely to be selfless and generous, as they have firsthand experience with the struggles of poverty. This selflessness is often regarded as a virtuous trait and can lead to the perception of wisdom. Let us close with a Haiku today honoring poetry with the poor’s wisdom of honor. Amen.

Haiku of the Poor’s Wisdom

Humble hearts find grace,

In the wisdom of the poor,

Wealth may tarnish souls. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for a little boy named David Alexander. Praise God thank You Jesus. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Wisdom honored in the poor

Wealth honors the rich

Poverty honored wealth how much more

Wealth disgraced poverty snitch?
