The Book of Sirach Ch Three v- 29
29 The mind of the wise appreciates proverbs, and the ear that listens to wisdom rejoices.
A wise mind rejoices in wisdom and encourages life lessons by living the proverbs where often times they contain distilled wisdom and life lessons that have been passed down through generations. They offer insightful and concise statements about human nature, relationships, and the complexities of life. A wise mind appreciates these lessons and finds value in their timeless wisdom. A wise mind sees clarity and simplicity for proverbs are usually short, concise, and easy to understand. They use simple language and metaphors to convey complex ideas in a straightforward manner. This simplicity makes them accessible and allows a wise mind to quickly grasp their meaning and apply them to various situations. Proverbs offer universal applicability and often address common human experiences and emotions, making them relatable across different cultures, languages, and generations. They capture fundamental truths about life and offer guidance that can be applied in various contexts. A wise mind appreciates this universality and finds comfort and insight in the collective wisdom of humanity.
Proverbs are often memorable due to their rhythmic and poetic nature. Their brevity and memorable phrasing make them easy to recall and share with others. This makes them practical for communication, teaching, and reflection. A wise mind recognizes the value of these memorable phrases as mental tools for navigating life’s challenges. Proverbs are an integral part of many cultures and reflect their values, beliefs, and traditions. They provide insights into a society’s history, customs, and collective knowledge. A wise mind appreciates the cultural richness and diversity captured within proverbs and finds joy in exploring different cultures through these linguistic treasures. Overall, proverbs resonate with a wise mind because they encapsulate timeless wisdom, offer clarity and simplicity, have universal applicability, are memorable and practical, and provide cultural appreciation. Here is just a few that wise men and women have shared over our amazing history as a humanity alive in truth.

- “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.”
- “The early bird catches the worm.”
- “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”
- “Actions speak louder than words.”

Now here’s a few form Sirach showing their chapter and verse:
- 3: 3 – ‘Those who honor their father atone for sins.’
- 3: 10 – ‘Do not glory in your father’s disgrace, for that is no glory to you!’
- 1: 1 – ‘All wisdom comes from the Lord, and with him, it remains forever.’
- 2:2 – ‘Be sincere and steadfast, undisturbed in times of adversity.’
- 2: 4 – ‘Accept whatever befalls you, in crushing misfortune be present.’
- 3: 10 – ‘He who does kindness is remembered afterward; when he falls, he finds support.’
- 5: 13 – 14 – ‘Be swift to hear, but slow to answer. If you have the knowledge, answer your neighbor; if not, put your hand over your mouth.’
- 6: 14 – 15 – ‘A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter; he who finds one finds a treasure. A faithful friend is beyond price; no sum can balance his worth.’
- 7: 32 – ‘To the poor man also extend your hand, that your blessing may be complete.’
- 10: 6 – ‘No matter what the wrong, do no violence to your neighbor, and do not walk the path of arrogance.’
- 11: 1 – ‘The poor man’s wisdom lifts his head high and sets him among princes.’
- 11: 17 – ‘The Lord’s gift remains with the just; his favor brings continued success.’
- 11: 21 – ‘Trust in the Lord and wait for his light; for it is easy with the LORD suddenly, in an instant, to make a poor man rich.’
- 12: 1 – ‘If you do good, know for whom you are doing it, and your kindness will have its effect.’
- 14: 20 -‘Happy is the man who meditates on wisdom, and reflects on knowledge.’
- 19: 1 – ‘He who wastes the little he has will be stripped bare.’
- 20:8 – ‘Some misfortunes bring success; some things gained are a man’s loss.’
- 22: 7 – ‘Teaching a fool is like gluing a broken pot, or like disturbing a man in the depths of sleep.’
- 22: 23 – ‘Make fast friends with a man while he is poor, thus will you enjoy his prosperity with him. In time of trouble remain true to him, so as to share in his inheritance when it comes.’
- 23: 20 – ‘He who knows all things before they exist still knows them after they are made.’
- 27: 12 – ‘Limit the time you spend among fools, but frequent the company of thoughtful men.’
- 28: 13 – ‘Cursed be gossips and the double-tongued, for they destroy the peace of many.’
- 30: 16 – ‘No treasure greater than a healthy body, no happiness than a joyful heart.’
- 30: 24 – ‘Envy and anger shorten one’s life, worry brings on premature old age.’
- 31: 22 – ‘In whatever you do be moderate, and no sickness will befall you.’
- 33: 7 – ‘Why is one day more important than another, when it is the sun that lights up every day.’
- 37: 15 – ‘Most important of all, pray to God to set your feet in the path of truth.’

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for a little boy named David Alexander. Praise God thank You Jesus. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.
