09-13-2023 Colossians Three V-0510 Idolatry is the greed you fill
The Letter to the Colossians Chapter Three v- Five thru Ten
5 Put to death, then, the parts of you that are earthly: immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and the greed that is idolatry. 6 Because of these the wrath of God is coming [upon the disobedient]. 7 By these you too once conducted yourselves, when you lived in that way. 8 But now you must put them all away: anger, fury, malice, slander, and obscene language out of your mouths. 9 Stop lying to one another, since you have taken off the old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed, for knowledge, in the image of its Creator.
We are all sinners. We experience the desires of sin every day. It seems today that in the midst of so many freedoms we have an excess of sin as some sort of fundamental right; freedom of expression seems to rule the desires of the heart for all humanity. What ever you want to do you can do well except pray openly? You see people getting arrested for praying for those about to die at the hands of abortion. Where did our world go? Instead of putting to death immorality and impurity we promote desires evil and greed which is never spoken of as idols. It’s never described as the Truth; Idolatry. It seems anger and fury rule the day where they call offensive our desire to follow God’s Will and His Commands and pray. The renewed knowledge of love, faith and hope seems to have dissipated disappeared doomed to die a quick death allowing evil to sway our children each day as the image of our Creator becomes forgotten and ignored to play; literally.
We play each day. We play with who we want when we want and say what we want to say. We make decisions that disappoint others but give joy to some who are gay. God has become ignored. Jesus a myth from old. Time will never stop the Christ from fulfilling His mission on earth to save the people from their sins. If only we’d believe. Believe the eye witness testimony of each Gospel written then your old self will be renewed in Truth obeying the Commands of our Lord to love thy neighbor as yourself to hold your tongue and see prudence as the joy Jesus brings to the world for Life Eternal; forgiven. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. NJ Emmaus in Oct. Kairos 56. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Prayers for a friend and his wife for a baby to be born. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Idolatry is the greed you fill**
Earthly parts of your body kill
Desires evil passions impurity immorality
Idolatry is the greed you fill
Disobedient receive coming God’s wrath eventually
Yourselves conducted life one this way
Away they must be all put today
Language obscene slander malice fury anger sway
Lying mouths stop self old no longer knows what to say
Self new obey
Renewed daily to crave
Knowledge obtained you pray
Creator’s Image you obey each day
