08-03-2023 Matthew Ch 27 v-1518 Jesus over a murdering thief
Gospel of Matthew Ch 27 v- 15 thru 18
15 Now on the occasion of the feast the governor was accustomed to release to the crowd one prisoner whom they wished. 16 And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called [Jesus] Barabbas. 17 So when they had assembled, Pilate said to them, “Which one do you want me to release to you, [Jesus] Barabbas, or Jesus called Messiah?” 18 For he knew that it was out of envy that they had handed him over.
Pilate had the right idea; surely, they’ll choose Jesus over a murdering thief. He tried but he wasn’t successful for the Will of God had other plans that day. Jesus would die for the sins of the world and Pilate would make Him suffer not understudying the consequences yet willing to avoid mass hysteria he thought by letting the crowd have their way. A killer will soon go loose as the Messiah is led away to be mocked and ridiculed even spit on in his face over-and-over-and-over again. Jesus knew He would be killed but He also knew that He would come back to life and Ascend to the Father to complete Salvation. This was the miracle they couldn’t get control of for they could make all the noise they wanted, “Crucify Him Crucify Him Crucify Him” they will all shout while Jesus uses silence as the weapon of grace for this underserved favor He was exacting on all humanity. What they did not understand would lead the world to an absolute freedom knowing they can surrender to living forever Life Eternal by calling on the Name of Jesus! Who wouldn’t want to live forever, right? Wrong. The world is being beckoned by one beautiful angel called Satan Lucifer or the Devil you take your pick. He seeks to seduce you and let you think excess is better than restraint for he uses envy to steal your soul for material wealth and possessions of too much too soon but remember it is never too late to change.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. Kairos 56. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Prayers for a friend and his wife for a baby to be born. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Jesus over a murdering thief**
Prisoner release feast custom peak
Crowd wish given for anyone to turn over a new leaf
Barabbas prisoner was a notorious sneak
Surely they’ll choose Jesus over a murdering thief
Assembling them all to say
Pilate addressed them this way
Messiah Jesus or Barabbas let go this day
Would envy kill their Savior in dismay
