Gospel of Matthew Ch 26 v- 42 thru 46

42 Withdrawing a second time, he prayed again, “My Father, if it is not possible that this cup pass without my drinking it, your will be done!” 43 Then he returned once more and found them asleep, for they could not keep their eyes open. 44 He left them and withdrew again and prayed a third time, saying the same thing again. 45 Then he returned to his disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? Behold, the hour is at hand when the Son of Man is to be handed over to sinners. 46 Get up, let us go. Look, my betrayer is at hand.”

Do you find yourself sleeping when you should’ve been awake praying better yet serving those who are in need? What are the two Commandments that give every other commandment their goodwill; Love thy Father thy God will all your heart, mind and soul and love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus wants this out of you; to serve. No excuses. No age limits. Just serve. Find a way to stay awake in Him constantly showing God First in every thing you do. It’s not a cliché it’s the absolute Truth. When God First is your decision, you will find the energy to pray to practice and proclaim that there’s a better way than betraying your God by seeking His Son over excess His Mercy over fear His Righteousness over laziness and His Salvation to know Redemption is near.

Let us talk about patience, persistence and passion to please Christ first. A story about how patience is welcomed when willfully bearing wrongs that seem so upsetting (I’m in a hurry when God had other plans). I went into a store to buy one item. This was a Sunday afternoon in Bartow, Florida. A man with a Kid Rock concert shirt and two teenage girls were in the 10 Items and less lane with 21 items. I counted. He was seemingly looking at me in a rude way as I approached with one item. “Surely, he’ll let me go first.” I thought. But no. I stood there as he sent his kids back to the isles for something else he forgot. But I held my tongue and smiled in Salvation’s Truth. A young lady came up behind me with a birthday cake. I commented how much patience the line of life is and paid for her birthday cake. She exclaimed, “Oh my God. Thank you! This has never happened to me.” You see, patience in Christ has an opportunity to be nice. I challenge you to buy someone’s birthday cake or a few groceries too. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Prayers for a friend and his wife for a baby to be born. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Sleeping still He exclaimed**

Again Jesus prayed times two

Father Mine pass cup if possible not drink

Done be Your Will true

Returned again found them asleep in a wink

Asleep them found

Eye keep not open

Again He withdrew sound

Times three praying same aloud

Disciples His He returned

Sleeping still He exclaimed

Rest yours taken Jesus spurned

Hour Man’s Son sinner’s hand He blamed

Up get go us

My betrayer here

They got up in a fuss

As Peter cuts off a slave’s ear
