06-15-2023 Matthew Ch 24 v-0102 By the worlds overachievers
Gospel of Matthew Ch 24 v- One thru Two
1 Jesus left the temple area and was going away, when his disciples approached him to point out the temple buildings. 2 He said to them in reply, “You see all these things, do you not? Amen, I say to you, there will not be left here a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down.”
I’ve been pondering the words of St. Anthony I shared yesterday. Listen to them again and let’s lead ourselves to the promise land where every child, woman and man will stand forever if they confess Jesus as their Savior. We need the Holy Spirit for without Him we’d be like a boat without a rudder spinning around and around and around.
St. Anthony said, “The man who is filled with the Holy Spirit speaks in different languages. These different languages are different ways of witnessing to Christ, such as humility, poverty, patience and obedience; we speak in those languages when we reveal in ourselves these virtues to others. Actions speak louder than words; let your words teach and your actions speak. We are full of words but empty of actions, and therefore are cursed by the Lord, since he himself cursed the fig tree when he found no fruit but only leaves.”
It’s hard to be humble in a world filled with so much competition some sort of race we think we need to run. We shouldn’t be humble we should be proud of our endeavors and accomplishments willing to boast of our wealth we all are taught to seek. We are unwilling to live in poverty to accomplish the joy of living Redeemed. So proud and rich go hand-in-hand as do humility and poverty? This is something you have to figure out in God’s plan for you but you will find out that poverty and humility go hand-in-hand too. To live for the Lord, one will need an abundant amount of patience willing to overcome the lost feeling of hopelessness by being obedient to the Lord’s Will in every aspect of your life. Placing God First is often times difficult because we are afraid of having not what someone else has as fame and fortune instead of God’s recognition of you as being holy for the sake of other’s souls. Your actions will speak louder than words by this example for living for Christ first sharing Heaven on earth for Life Eternal. They include everything I’ve written below for your Salvation’s benefit. Read them yourselves in peace as you know how to forgive and serve the least rich or not a banquet’s feast. Amen.
The SEVEN CORPORAL WORKS OF MERCY are Feeding the Hungry, Giving Drink to the Thirsty, Clothing the Naked, Sheltering the Homeless, Visiting the Imprisoned, Comforting the Sick and Burying the Dead. The SEVEN SPIRITUAL WORKS OF MERCY are Teaching the Ignorant, Praying for the Living and the Dead, Correcting Sinners, Counseling Those in Doubt, Consoling the Sorrowful, Bearing Wrongs Patiently and Forgiving Wrongs Willingly.
The Seven Virtues vs The Seven Sins
The Seven Virtues chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness, and humility.
Biblical Reference 2 Peter 1 4-8
4 Through these, he has bestowed on us the precious and very great promises, so that through them you may come to share in the divine nature, after escaping from the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire. 5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, virtue with knowledge,6 knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with devotion, 7 devotion with mutual affection, mutual affection with love. 8 If these are yours and increase in abundance, they will keep you from being idle or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Seven Sins pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth.
Biblical Reference Proverbs 6:16-19
16 There are six things the LORD hates, yes, seven are an abomination to him; 17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that plots wicked schemes, feet that are quick to run to evil, 19 The false witness who utters lies, and the one who sows discord among kindred.
