Gospel of Matthew Ch 20 v- Six thru Eight

6 Going out about five o’clock, he found others standing around, and said to them, ‘Why do you stand here idle all day?’ 7 They answered, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You too go into my vineyard.’ 8 When it was evening the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Summon the laborers and give them their pay, beginning with the last and ending with the first’

Have you ever gone to a company Christmas party and received the bonus everyone else receives? You know the standard hundred-dollar bill or the check for two fifty? You begin to notice that everyone no matter their pay grade got the exact same thing and not a soul complains openly; “Why did the mail guy get what the boss gets?” When you become the owner of some business and begin to pay a bonus or even a just wage many will be jealous over this fact of being the Big Guy or Boss Woman of their livelihood until they surrender to this fact and become a team player that seeks the same outcome that everyone else does and that’s to turn a profit. But with God your profit comes from the surrender to what Jesus asks when you employ every aspect of living His Seven Corporal Works of Mercy combined with you complying with the Seven Spiritual Works of Mercy.

Reflect on these and what it means to surrender to each and every one. To not get angry or jealous comes to mind to understand that Charity must be Divine every action that creates a reaction to living for the least the sick the dying the imprisoned. Let’s talk about them now. The SEVEN CORPORAL WORKS OF MERCY are Feeding the Hungry, Giving Drink to the Thirsty, Clothing the Naked, Sheltering the Homeless, Visiting the Imprisoned, Comforting the Sick and Burying the Dead. The SEVEN SPIRITUAL WORKS OF MERCY are Teaching the Ignorant, Praying for the Living and the Dead, Correcting Sinners, Counseling Those in Doubt, Consoling the Sorrowful, Bearing Wrongs Patiently and Forgiving Wrongs Willingly. How hard it must be to live life without the protection of Jesus not knowing what it means to live forever not knowing Truth. Can you say you do each and every one? Are you a team player of this type of fun?  Salvation is Life Eternal this is when life has truly begun for the Son. Amen.
