Gospel of Matthew Ch 15 v- 10 thru 13

10 He summoned the crowd and said to them, “Hear and understand. 11 It is not what enters one’s mouth that defiles that person; but what comes out of the mouth is what defiles one.” 12 Then his disciples approached and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees took offense when they heard what you said?” 13 He said in reply,* “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.

I was walking into a grocery store the other day and a young mother with her daughter of about ten I would say was spewing words like F that ATM, F the store for not taking care of it. F anyone who is listening F this and F that. The words stuck in my head as ugly and realizing I had said them as well in the past I regressed without saying aloud, “It is not appropriate to speak that way in front of your little girl or in public for that matter.” But my tongue was silent. Am I seemingly afraid of being accosted by a response that surely would be hurled? One’s fear of confrontation can stifle the Truth yet we all know the Truth reveals itself sooner or later. The way we speak to our children has long-lasting implications and cannot be dismissed as just getting mad.

Yesterday I listened to a real motivational speaker speaking about the beauty of living Redeemed yet our society has fallen by the wayside because nobody seems to admonish in pure love anymore; society wants you to say it’s ok although the consequences are filled with sin and death unnatural in many cases but they still want you to “go along.” Is this what God really means when He says to admonish or does today’s Scripture tell us God will uproot those He hasn’t planted? Will an Eternity of torment be given to those our Lord uproots? As a parent, if you don’t find the couth in Christ Jesus will your children grow up to be fighters instead of lovers disobeying the Law of the land?

Our speaker gave the example of a father reacting to his son telling him he was gay and he was going to marry another man. Do we say ok or do we consequence the Truth and its dead-end ramifications? Do we speak of natural law and express its dead-end street?  The Truth hurts and so do the consequences of sin and even admonishing for the consequence then can be excommunicated; no talking to sons or daughters because you believe in living the Truth and as the motivational speaker said, “We must be willing to face the consequences of speaking the Truth. Even if it takes forty years for you to speak to them again they will realize you lived in Truth.” This hurts. The pain of separation speaks very loud and Jesus is the Truth to overcome this pain. In Jesus we find the strength to pray unceasingly as our Lord commands to remain in peace and to shed all sin to live in peace of Redemption. We must live in forgiveness willing to let go and let God be God to see shame and fear to be replaced by peace and purpose. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for Boston aka Keith. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. Silence for the prayers of others dealing with the war in Ukraine. In the Holy Spirit we pray our brothers in Kairos especially a prayer for our men in blue. We pray for Holy Mother Church.
