04-03-2026 Philippians 2 v0511 Every Tongue Confess That Jesus Christ Is Lord

The Letter to the Philippians Chapter 2 Verse 5 thru 11

5 Have among yourselves the same attitude that is also yours in Christ Jesus, 6 Who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. 7 Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance, 8 he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross. 9 Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:5-11 is a profound passage that encapsulates the essence of humility and exaltation of Christ. It encourages believers to adopt the same mindset as Jesus, who, despite His divine nature, chose to lower Himself, taking on human form and becoming obedient to the point of death on a cross. This act of selflessness and sacrifice is central to Christian teachings and underpins the significance of Good Friday, a day observed in the Christian calendar to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Good Friday is called “good” because it marks the day when Jesus willingly suffered and died for the sins of humanity, embodying the ultimate act of love and redemption. This day reflects the paradox of suffering leading to salvation. Through His death, Jesus provided a pathway for reconciliation between humanity and God, making it a pivotal moment in Christian faith. Christians observe Good Friday with solemnity, recognizing the immense sacrifice He made. It’s a day of reflection, prayer, and gratitude for the mercy and grace that His death symbolizes.

Furthermore, in responding to the significance of Jesus, Christians often bow their heads and bend their knees at His name, recognizing His authority and divinity. Philippians 2:10-11 states that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, reflecting a reverence for His lordship. This gesture is one of submission, acknowledging who Jesus is—the Savior and King. It symbolizes respect, honor, and the ultimate acknowledgment of His role in salvation history. By bowing, believers express their faith and devotion, reinforcing the understanding that Jesus embodies both humility and exaltation, serving as an everlasting reminder of His love and sacrifice. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Every Tongue Confess That Jesus Christ Is Lord**

In hearts and minds, let this be true,

The humble path we’re called to pursue,

With Christ’s own spirit, we align,

In love and servitude, our lives entwine.

He, though divine, took on our frame,

In human form, He bore no shame,

A servant’s heart, He chose to wear,

Embracing loss, enduring care.

From heaven’s height, He came to be,

The light of grace, for all to see,

Obedient unto death’s cruel hand,

A sacrifice that Love had planned.

Before Him, every knee shall bend,

In every tongue, His name we’ll send,

For Jesus Christ, our Savior, King,

To Him our heartfelt praises sing.

In glory bright, He reigns above,

A testament of endless love,

So let us mirror His embrace,

And share His truth, His boundless grace. Amen.
