02-24-2026 Matthew 6 0515 Pray To Your Father In Secret

The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 6 Verse 5 thru 15

5 “When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may see them. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward. 6 But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you. 7 In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9 “This is how you are to pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread; 12 and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; 13 and do not subject us to the final test but deliver us from the evil one. 14 If you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.

Matthew 6:5-15 offers profound insights into the nature of prayer and our relationship with God. In these verses, Jesus teaches His followers about the importance of genuine prayer, contrasting it with the ostentatious displays often seen in public. He emphasizes the significance of secrecy and sincerity in our communication with God, encouraging us to enter our prayer closets to connect deeply with the Father.

The promise that what we pray to our Father in secret, He will reward us in secret, serves as a beautiful reminder of God’s intimate and personal nature. This emphasizes that our prayers are not mere rituals; they are heartfelt conversations with a loving Father who desires an authentic relationship with His children. When we approach God in humility and sincerity, we can trust that He hears our requests and responds in ways that are often beyond our understanding.

Moreover, these verses culminate in what is commonly known as the Lord’s Prayer, a model for how we should structure our prayers. It encompasses elements of adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication, guiding us to align our hearts with God’s will. Through this prayer, we acknowledge not just our needs but also God’s holiness and His desire for us to forgive others as we seek forgiveness ourselves.

Ultimately, the call in Matthew 6:5-15 invites us to seek a deeper understanding of God’s love and the peace that surpasses all knowledge. As we engage in private prayer, we discover more about our own hearts, as well as the profound mysteries of God’s grace and mercy. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. NOVENA DAY THREE FOR THE REPOSE OF THE SOUL OF ROY WIGGINS. Novena Prayers Day One for John Williams in Hospice. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Pray To Your Father In Secret**

In quiet space, where whispers dwell,

The heart speaks truth, no need to tell,

When prayers ascend like incense sweet,

In humbleness, our souls are eternally complete.

Not for the gaze of men adorned,

Nor lofty words, in pride, we’re scorned,

But in the stillness, we will seek,

A sacred voice that makes us weak.

Close the door, let silence reign,

In secret solace, shed the pain,

The Father knows our every plea,

In whispered hopes, we long to be.

With open hearts, we trust the way,

Forgiving debts that led us astray,

As we forgive, so we’re set free,

In mercy’s arms, we find our plea.

“Thy will be done,” our spirits yearn,

For daily bread, new life to earn,

In trials faced, we seek Your light,

Lead us through darkness, into the bright.

For love abounds, and grace extends,

In every prayer, our journey bends,

In unity with heaven’s song,

We find our place, where we belong.

So teach us now, to pray aright,

To cherish truth, to seek the light,

For in our secret seeking, we will find,

A deeper love from the Divine. Amen.
