The Gospel of Luke Chapter 9 Verse 22 thru 27

22 He said, “The Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed and on the third day be raised.” 23 Then he said to all, “If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. 25 What profit is there for one to gain the whole world yet lose or forfeit himself? 26 Whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. 27 Truly I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.”

In Luke 9:22-27, Jesus reveals profound truths about His identity and the cost of discipleship. He states, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the teachers of the law; and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.” Here, we see the stark reality of Jesus’ mission. His impending suffering and rejection highlight the challenge believers face in a world that often stands opposed to the message of the Gospel.

Jesus then calls His followers to a radical commitment: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” This powerful call underscores that true discipleship involves sacrifice and courage. Embracing the teachings of Christ means stepping into a journey that isn’t always easy but is profoundly rewarding. To follow Jesus is to align our lives with His truth, regardless of societal pressures or personal fears.

He reminds us that, “If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory.” This is a comforting yet sobering reminder that once we genuinely believe in Jesus, there is no room for shame. His words bring life, purpose, and hope. We must not allow fear or doubt to cloud our commitment to Him.

In a world that can often challenge our beliefs, let us hold fast to the truth of Jesus’ words with confidence. As believers, we never need to be ashamed of our faith; instead, we can boldly proclaim it, knowing that we stand in the light of His promise. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

02-19-2026 Luke 9 v2227

**Whoever Is Ashamed Of Me and My Words**

In whispers deep, the Teacher spoke,

Of paths ahead where shadows woke,

“To suffer much,” His solemn claim,

“To bear the cross, endure the shame.

“For the Son of Man must face the night,

Rejected, scorned, yet filled with light,

But on the third, in glory rise,

A promise sealed beyond the skies.”

He spoke of lives that must be laid,

For those who lose will find their trade,

To save one’s life at what a cost?

The soul’s true wealth in gain not lost.

The world will judge, and hearts will weigh,

But follow Me, trust in the way.

Those shadows flit, those temptations call,

Yet seek the truth, let not fear enthrall.

Stand firm, O heart, endure the strife,

For in true loss, you find your life.

A glimpse of glory, shining bright,

In faith’s embrace, we grasp the light. Amen.
