The Gospel of Mark Chapter 6 Verse 7 thru 13

7 He went around to the villages in the vicinity teaching. He summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over unclean spirits. 8 He instructed them to take nothing for the journey but a walking stick—no food, no sack, no money in their belts. 9 They were, however, to wear sandals but not a second tunic. 10 He said to them, “Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave from there. 11 Whatever place does not welcome you or listen to you, leave there and shake the dust off your feet in testimony against them.” 12 So they went off and preached repentance. 13 They drove out many demons, and they anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them.

Mark 6:7-13 recounts a pivotal moment in Jesus’ ministry where He empowers His disciples to carry forth the message of repentance and healing. In this passage, Jesus sends out the Twelve, granting them authority over unclean spirits and instructing them to preach that people should repent. This call to evangelism is not merely a task for the apostles; it echoes through the ages to all who have surrendered to Christ as their Savior.

When you accept Christ, you become a child of God, filled with the Holy Spirit and transformed by His grace. This new identity comes with a profound responsibility: to share the good news of salvation and the necessity of repentance with everyone you encounter. Repentance is not a one-time act but a lifelong journey of turning away from sin and toward God.

Through the authority given to the disciples, we see that we, too, are equipped and empowered. Just as they were commanded to shake off the dust from their feet where they were not welcomed, we are reminded that our responsibility is to share the message; the response is up to others. This might feel daunting in a world that often resists the truth but remember that God has already provided us the tools we need—a heart of compassion, the gospel of Christ, and the indwelling of His Spirit.

So, as you go about your day, be bold in your faith and proactive in sharing. Whether it’s in conversations with friends, family, or even strangers, you have the joyful task of preaching repentance and pointing others toward the mercy and grace available in Christ. Embrace this divine appointment, and may your words and actions reflect the love of God. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**They Went Off And Preached Repentance**

In Galilee where shadows play,

The Master called His chosen few,

He sent them forth, in earnest to pray,

To spread His word, to share the truth anew.

With dust upon their humble feet,

They journeyed wide through village lanes,

With faith their armor, strong and sweet,

They healed the sick, eased all their pains.

“Don’t take your bread, nor gold to spare,

Just sandals on your weary feet,

In every house, you’ll find a care,

A peaceful heart, a welcoming seat.”

They preached of love, of grace divine,

Anointed hands brought sight and sounds,

In stories told, in faith’s design to remind,

The seeds of hope would know no bounds.

So let us learn from those who cry,

In voices raised, both loud and meek,

To carry forth the repentance message high,

And in their steps, let love be our speech. Amen.
