12-30-2025 Luke 2 v3640 The Favor Of God Was Upon Him
The Gospel of Luke Chapter 2 Verse 36 thru 40
36 There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived seven years with her husband after her marriage, 37 and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day with fasting and prayer. 38 And coming forward at that very time, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were awaiting the redemption of Jerusalem. 39 When they had fulfilled all the prescriptions of the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth. 40 The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom; and the favor of God was upon him.
In Luke 2:36-40, we encounter Anna, a prophetess who embodies unwavering devotion to God. She had dedicated her life to fasting and prayer in the temple, awaiting the promised Messiah. When she sees the infant Jesus, she recognizes Him instantly and praises God, sharing the good news with all who were looking for redemption. This profound moment emphasizes not only the significance of Jesus’ arrival but also the importance of individual surrender to God’s will.
Anna’s life illustrates how finding favor with God is not reserved for a select few; it is open to everyone willing to give their all for Him. She was a widow and likely faced significant personal struggles, yet she chose to remain faithful and committed. Her story encourages us to recognize that we, too, can find favor with God through our dedication and willingness to serve Him wholeheartedly.
In our busy lives filled with distractions, we may find it challenging to prioritize our relationship with God. However, Anna’s steadfast faith serves as a reminder that when we devote ourselves to prayer, service, and seeking God’s presence, we open ourselves to His blessings. It is in these moments of surrender that we can truly experience His favor, just as she did.
As we reflect on Anna’s example, let us be inspired to give our all to God’s will. Whether through acts of kindness, fervent prayer, or simply seeking His guidance in our daily lives, we can draw closer to Him through His Word. Like Anna, may we be ready to recognize the divine moments when God reveals His plans to us. Remember, all it takes is a heart open to His leading—together, we can find favor and joy in His presence. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

**The Favor Of God Was Upon Him**
In the temple’s sacred light,
A prophetess, aged and wise,
Anna, a beacon, steadfast and bright,
With faith that reached to the skies.
Years of waiting, years in prayer,
She sought the promised One;
In her heart, through pain and care,
Hope bloomed like the morning sun.
When Mary came, with Jesus small,
Anna’s spirit soared anew,
She recognized the Savior’s call,
The long-awaited child in view.
With joy, she spoke, proclaiming grace,
To all who gathered near,
The redemption of the human race,
In that humble child, so dear.
In verses penned, her story told,
Of faith that never waned,
Through trials faced, hearts contrived,
God’s promise ever sustained.
From youth to age, she saw the light,
Of salvation’s wondrous plan,
In quiet strength, she shared her sight,
A witness of the Son of Man.
So let us carry, like Anna bold,
A message of hope to share,
In every heart, let love unfold,
As we journey, forever in prayer. Amen.
