11-29-2025 Luke 21 v3436 Beware Your Hearts Do Not Become Drowsy

The Gospel of Luke Chapter 21 Verse 34 thru 36

34 “Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise 35 like a trap. For that day will assault everyone who lives on the face of the earth. 36 Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man.”

In Luke 21:34-36, Jesus warns us about the dangers of letting the anxieties of daily life consume us. He admonishes us, saying, “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.” These verses serve as a powerful reminder to maintain vigilance in our spiritual lives. The constant pressures and distractions of the world can easily lead us away from our faith, dulling our senses and leaving us vulnerable to the attacks of the evil one.

When we become absorbed in the trivialities and worries of everyday existence, we risk entering a spiritual stupor—a state of mind that blunts our awareness and readiness. In this condition, we may find our inner strength waning, making it difficult to stand firm before the Son of Man on the day of judgment. The weight of our anxieties can blind us to what is truly important, leading to a heart unprepared for what lies ahead.

Jesus urges us to be vigilant and to pray continually for strength and grace. This call to readiness is not merely about avoiding pitfalls; it’s about actively preparing to meet our Savior. Let us not allow the cares of the world to overtake us, trapping us in a cycle of despair that we cannot escape.

Instead, let us seek spiritual clarity and fortitude in Christ. Be watchful and ready, for the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. Embrace the strength that comes from Him and affirm your commitment to live faithfully in anticipation of His return. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Day Three Novena for Repose of the Soul John Jeffries. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

11-29-2025 Luke 21 v3436

**Beware Your Hearts Do Not Become Drowsy**

In shadows deep, where hearts may sway,

Beware the cares that steal the day,

For heavy burdens cloud the mind,

And in their grip, the truth we blind.

The world spins fast, its pleasures call,

Yet watchful souls must heed the thrall.

Lift up your gaze to skies above,

Stay anchored firm in faith and love.

With prayerful hearts, in vigil stand,

Embrace the light, take a steadfast hand.

For when the storm shall rage and swell,

The faithful find a refuge to dwell.

So keep your lamps aglow and bright,

In darkest hours, be sons of light.

Prepare the heart, the spirit mend,

For hope shall rise, the journey’s end. Amen.
