11-09-2025 1 Corinth 3 v0917 The Spirit of God Dwells In You

The 1st Letter to the Corinthians Chapter 3 Verse 9 thru 17

9 For we are God’s co-workers; you are God’s field, God’s building. 10 According to the grace of God given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building upon it. But each one must be careful how he builds upon it, 11 for no one can lay a foundation other than the one that is there, namely, Jesus Christ. 12 If anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, 13 the work of each will come to light, for the Day will disclose it. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire [itself] will test the quality of each one’s work. 14 If the work stands that someone built upon the foundation, that person will receive a wage. 15 But if someone’s work is burned up, that one will suffer loss; the person will be saved, but only as through fire. 16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for the temple of God, which you are, is holy.

1 Corinthians 3:9-17 speaks profoundly to the nature of our lives as believers and the significance of the spiritual foundation we build. The Apostle Paul reminds us that we are God’s fellow workers and His temple, indicating that our lives are not our own but are dedicated to God’s purpose. Through this passage, we are encouraged to consider how we are constructing our spiritual lives. The imagery of building upon the foundation of Christ emphasizes the importance of our choices, actions, and the quality of our work in God’s Kingdom.

Reflecting on my past life of sin, it was clear that destructive choices I made can lead to spiritual decay and turmoil, potentially damaging the temple of the Holy Spirit within me. Recognizing the gravity of those actions was a crucial step toward healing and restoration. This awareness paves the way for genuine repentance and a deeper hunger for God’s wisdom. As you nourish your mind, body, and soul with His truth, you align yourself with the principles outlined in Scripture, allowing God to rebuild and reinforce the foundation of your spiritual life.

The call to build with gold, silver, and precious stones rather than wood, hay, or straw is one of intentionality. It urges us to invest in eternal values and pursue holiness, understanding that the work we do will be tested. When we seek wisdom from His Word, not only do we fortify ourselves against temptation, but we also contribute positively to the work God is doing in and through us.

Ultimately, 1 Corinthians 3:9-17 serves as a vibrant reminder of the grace and forgiveness available through Christ and the transformative power of aligning our lives with His truth. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Novena Day 1 for the repose of the Soul of Edgar Bruce. RIP In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**The Spirit of God Dwells In You**

In the foundation laid by grace,

Together we, God’s work embrace,

As builders on a sacred ground,

With Christ, our cornerstone is found.

Each serve, a gift, in unity,

A tapestry of faith we weave,

With gold and silver, wood and straw,

Our lives reflect the Builder’s law.

The fire shall test what we have done,

Our deeds, like harvests, weigh a ton;

What stands will shine, what falls away,

As daybreak heralds’ judgment day.

God’s temple we, in His design,

A holy space by love enshrined,

The Spirit dwells within our heart,

In every life, He plays a part.

Take heed, dear friends, the call is clear,

To live in truth, to serve with cheer;

For all we build shall one day show,

The depth of love we seek to sow.

So treasure well this hallowed trust,

In faith and hope, in love, we must,

For what we sow in wisdom’s light,

Shall glorify the Builder’s eternal might. Amen.
