The Letter to the Romans Chapter 12 Verse 5 thru 15

5 So we, though many, are one body in Christ and individually parts of one another. 6 Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us exercise them: if prophecy, in proportion to the faith; 7 if ministry, in ministering; if one is a teacher, in teaching; 8 if one exhorts, in exhortation; if one contributes, in generosity; if one is over others, with diligence; if one does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be sincere; hate what is evil, hold on to what is good; 10 love one another with mutual affection; anticipate one another in showing honor. 11 Do not grow slack in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. 12 Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in prayer. 13 Contribute to the needs of the holy ones, exercise hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute [you], bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.

As I celebrate my 63rd birthday today, I find myself reflecting on the profound wisdom found in Romans 12:5-15. This passage beautifully encapsulates the essence of community, spiritual gifts, and the call to live harmoniously with one another in Christ. Paul reminds us that we are all parts of one body, each having unique gifts, and that our diversity is to be embraced and utilized for the greater good of the Church and society.

In verse 5, we read, “so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” This notion of interconnectedness resonates deeply with me today. At 63, I am reminded of the myriad ways God has blessed me with diverse abilities and experiences. In this new season of life, I aspire to exemplify these gifts in ways that fulfill God’s will in all aspects—whether in service, encouragement, or love.

As I move forward, I pray that I can honor all people especially my Soul-Mate in Christ, Toni, just as God requires. This includes showing compassion and empathy, listening generously, and extending grace. Verses 10-12 urge us to “be devoted to one another in love,” to “honor one another above yourselves,” and to “be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” These directives serve as a guiding light for my life. I feel a responsibility to embody these principles, reflecting God’s love to all those I encounter.

Furthermore, as I rejoice in this special day, I am reminded to “mourn with those who mourn” (v. 15). It is a powerful call to connect with others in their joys and sorrows. As I celebrate my journey, it is my prayer that I may continue to use my gifts to glorify God, serve my community, and honor all people. May each day be a testament to living out the love and grace that leads to Eternal Life. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Endure in Affliction**

In the body of Christ, together we thrive,

Each member unique, yet we come alive.

With gifts intertwined, in service we blend,

As branches of one vine, on Him we depend.

Embrace each other, in harmony’s grace,

Rejoice with the joyful and mourn in their space.

A tapestry woven in laughter and tears,

Through valleys of struggle, through mountains of years.

Let love be your guide, sincere and profound,

In kindness and mercy, let hearts be unbound.

For evil we shun, with good we engage,

In the spirit of blessing, we turn not the page.

With fervent devotion, in hope we won’t tire,

A spark in our hearts, igniting His fire.

With patience we wait, through trials that chase,

In prayer we find strength, in His warm embrace.

Share with the needy, give freely and bold,

For in openness found, our true wealth unfolds.

Extend hands of grace, let compassion flow free,

For in serving each other, we find our decree.

So let us rejoice, as we live out His call,

In the unity shared, we uplift us all.

In kindness and love, let our spirits align,

In the heart of our Savior, together we shine. Amen.
