The Book of Wisdom Chapter 3 Verse One thru Nine

1 The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them. 2 They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead; and their passing away was thought an affliction 3 and their going forth from us, utter destruction. But they are in peace. 4 For if to others, indeed, they seem punished, yet is their hope full of immortality; 5 Chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed, because God tried them and found them worthy of himself. 6 As gold in the furnace, he proved them, and as sacrificial offerings he took them to himself. 7 In the time of their judgment they shall shine and dart about as sparks through stubble; 8 They shall judge nations and rule over peoples, and the LORD shall be their King forever. 9 Those who trust in him shall understand truth, and the faithful shall abide with him in love: Because grace and mercy are with his holy ones, and his care is with the elect.

On this significant day when we celebrate All Souls’ Day, we gather in reflection and prayer for those who have departed from this life. In this solemn observance, we turn to Wisdom 3:1-9, which reveals the boundless mercy the Lord extends toward His holy ones. The passage assures us that “the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God,” reflecting a profound truth: though our loved ones may seem lost to us, in God, they live eternally, cradled in His love and mercy.

These verses highlight the belief that earthly trials and sufferings cannot diminish the promise of divine reward. The Lord reassures us that while our loved ones may have faced hardships, they are now free from torment, enveloped in heavenly peace. This reminds us that God’s mercy transcends our understanding of life and death. It extends even to those who may feel far from Him, offering hope and reconciliation.

Additionally, it is important to recognize that even those who find themselves imprisoned, whether in a physical or spiritual sense, are not excluded from this grace. In their solitude, they can still pray for the faithful departed, embodying the spirit of intercession that reflects God’s mercy. No one is beyond the reach of God’s love, and even in confinement, one can participate in the great communion of saints, connecting with the broader Church in prayer and hope.

As we honor the souls of our departed loved ones, let us also reflect on our own call to holiness. Each of us is invited to be counted among His holy ones. By simply surrendering to God’s truth and calling upon the name of Jesus as our Savior, we can embrace our identity as beloved children of God. Thus, we not only pray for those who have passed but also nurture our relationship with Him, confident in His promise of eternal life and mercy. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

11-02-2025 Wisdom 3 v0109

**They Shall Be Greatly Blessed**

In tranquil depths, the righteous find their place,

Their souls ablaze with hope, adorned with grace.

Where shadows lift and light begins to weave,

In trials endured, they learn to believe.

Though fleeting is the breath of mortal days,

Each tear a seed, each struggle sets ablaze.

In suffering, a hidden strength appears,

A spirit forged through trials, raw with fears.

The wicked scoff, their eyes blind to the light,

For wisdom speaks of truth beyond our sight.

Yet judgments rise when earthly crowns shall fall,

In faith, they stand; it is their battle call.

When death’s dark cloak descends, it cannot bind

For in the heart of wisdom, peace we find.

The souls aligned with justice and with care,

In life eternal, love’s embrace laid bare.

So cherish, then, the journey, not the prize,

For in the stillness, hear the soft replies.

With every step, let wisdom shape your way;

The righteous live, while all things false decay. Amen.
