05-24-2026 Acts 2 V1631 Pentecost Was Fulfilled

The Acts of the Apostles Chapter 2 Verse One thru Eleven

1 When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. 2 And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. 3 Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them.c4And they were all filled with the holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues,* as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim. 5 Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven staying in Jerusalem. 6 At this sound, they gathered in a large crowd, but they were confused because each one heard them speaking in his own language. 7 They were astounded, and in amazement they asked, “Are not all these people who are speaking Galileans? 8 Then how does each of us hear them in his own native language? 9 We are Parthians, Medes, and Elamites, inhabitants of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the districts of Libya near Cyrene, as well as travelers from Rome, 11 both Jews and converts to Judaism, Cretans and Arabs, yet we hear them speaking in our own tongues of the mighty acts of God.” 12 They were all astounded and bewildered, and said to one another, “What does this mean?” 13 But others said, scoffing, “They have had too much new wine.”

Acts 2:1-11 recounts the profound event of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles, empowering them to spread the message of Jesus Christ to the world. This moment marks the birth of the Church, as the apostles, previously fearful and uncertain, were transformed into bold witnesses of the resurrection. The miraculous ability to speak in multiple languages signifies the universal mission of the Church, emphasizing that the Gospel is meant for all people, transcending cultural and linguistic barriers.

Pentecost is of paramount importance to the Catholic Church as it represents the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise to send the Holy Spirit to guide and empower His followers. This event not only confirms the divine nature of the Church’s mission but also marks the beginning of a new covenant, where believers are invited into a personal relationship with God through the Holy Spirit. As Catholics, we are reminded that the Holy Spirit continues to work actively in our lives, offering guidance, wisdom, and strength to live out our faith.

Embracing the Holy Spirit means opening ourselves to His transformative presence, allowing Him to lead us toward a life of holiness and service. In doing so, we participate in the promise of eternal life, made possible through Jesus’ sacrifice. The Holy Spirit inspires us to seek forgiveness for our sins and to extend that grace to others, reflecting God’s love and mercy. Through the Spirit’s empowering presence, we are emboldened to witness to our faith, sharing the hopeful message of salvation and the joy of eternal life with those around us. Pentecost thus reminds us of our call to be active participants in the mission of the Church, living out the Gospel in a world hungry for truth and love. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

05-24-2026 Acts 2 V1631

**Pentecost Was Fulfilled**

In the heart of Jerusalem, the day was bright,

Fifty days past the Passover, a promise in sight.

All were gathered, united, in one sacred space,

A tapestry of voices, a prayerful embrace.

Then came a sound, like the rush of the wind,

A flame of bold spirit, igniting within.

Tongues of fire danced, alight on each brow,

Empowered, anointed, they knew not how.

From every direction, a fervent delight,

The people of nations amassed in the light.

Parthians and Medes, all in awe of the scene,

Each heard their own language, the power unseen.

“Marvel and wonder!” the crowd did exclaim,

As the Spirit descended, igniting the flame.

“Are these not Galileans?” they marveled in fear,

Yet each word of love was perfectly clear.

Proclaiming His wonders, a song of salvation,

A gift of connection, a divine revelation.

Each heart was inspired, each soul set ablaze,

In the midst of their doubts, their fear was erased.

For through the confusion, a tapestry spun,

A message of hope, the battle was won.

Through the tongues of the faithful, the promise now flows,

The Spirit unites us, in love’s endless prose.

So let us remember that powerful day,

When barriers crumbled, in passion we sway.

For in every heart, may His Spirit arise,

A chorus of nations, our praises to the skies. Amen.
